Police Officer/Beyoncé Fan Gets into ‘Formation’

He slays.

By Amanda Wicks

Since releasing her video “Formation,” Beyoncé has bumped heads with the police on more than one occasion. Her performance at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show was viewed, by some, as an attack on police. And the Miami Fraternal Order of Police threatened to boycott her Formation Tour when it stopped in the city in April. But there’s one police officer who is an unabashedly a fan of Queen Bey, and he’s got the moves to prove it.

2nd Lieutenant Deuntay Diggs from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has gone viral yet again for performing his slay-perfect “Formation” dance at a North Stafford High School pep rally in Virginia over the weekend. Diggs took center court to show off his moves, which come directly from Beyoncé’s music video. Needless to say, the students went absolutely nuts.

Diggs first went viral over the summer when he performed his take on “Formation” during a lip sync contest at a Back to School Expo. He claimed that performing Beyoncé for kids was a fun way to engage them and in turn speak with them more directly about issues affecting them and their community (via Good Day DC). According to his website, he’s the first openly gay deputy at the Sheriff’s Office, and works as a motivational speaker addressing race, sexuality and diversity.

Diggs has posted some of his best performances on his Instagram account. Check out the pep rally moment as well as his time with the pep squad below.
