Selena Gomez is taking some time to care for herself.
Since wrapping up her Revival World Tour, Gomez has been staying out of the spotlight to manager her “anxiety, panic attacks and depression,” which have been side effects of the autoimmune disease lupus.
Now, the 24-year-old singer/actress has reportedly checked into a rehab center outside of Nashville to continue her treatment.
“Selena is dealing with lupus, but this break is to focus on her mental health,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She can go to a very dark place.”
“She was supposed to be recording,” a second source added, “but she hasn’t told anyone when she’ll be back in studio.”
Gomez also received treatment back in 2014, a year after being diagnosed with lupus.
“It has been overwhelming and the response has been very supportive, which is nice — but it still makes me a little uncomfortable,” she told Billboard in December of 2015. “I waited for the right time to talk about it because I am in a great place and I’m very healthy. I’m not trying to be loud about it: It was time to use my platform to help.”
