Detroit Restaurant to Transform into Luke’s Diner from ‘Gilmore Girls’

Luke’s Diner: where the coffee flows freely, the service comes without a smile, and cell phones are never, ever allowed.

If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, you know exactly what we’re talking about, and you’re going to want to read carefully!

According to Detroit Eater, the Midtown restaurant Avalon International Breads has revealed that they are planning to transform into Luke’s Diner for one day honor of the upcoming Netflix reboot.

The switch will happen on October 5 from 7 a.m. to noon (the anniversary of the show’s original premiere date), where GG fanatics can dine just like Lorelai, Rory and the rest of the Stars Hollow gang.

Avalon manager Lesley O’Connell confirms to Detroit Eater that the event comes courtesy of Netflix, which is funding similar promotions for about 200 cafes across the country.

Diners who get there early can enjoy one of 250 free 12-ounce cups of coffee.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will debut on the streaming service on November 25.
