Novi High School Student with Downs Syndrome Scores Touchdown Friday Night

This is the kind of story to give you a lift.

Robby Heil, a young man with Downs Syndrome, and waterboy for the Novi High School football team, was put in the game Friday night, took a handoff, and scored a touchdown against South Lyon East, who were in on the special play ahead of time.

The moment was special for Robby, and also his mom, who is terminally ill with cancer. The entire crowd chanted “We Love Robby!”

And the good karma worked out in the end, as Novi won the game 42-14.
