‘Fuller House’ Just Re-Cast a Fan-Favorite Character

It looks like Fuller House just got a new character!

According to Entertainment Weekly, DJ’s former flame Nelson, who was previously played by Jason Marsden on the original series, has been recast for upcoming episodes.

Hal Sparks will now play DJ’s wealthy (and somewhat nerdy) ex-boyfriend after producers were unable to get Marsden to sign back on for the role.

Although he declined to return for the spinoff due to scheduling conflicts, Marsden had a couple of requests for his former character, particularly regarding his height.

“I hope whoever they get to play Nelson is fantastic. I hope he’s still short,” he said in a video on Twitter. “I hope the producers aren’t like, ‘Now we can do this, let’s do it again right.'”

Season 2 of Fuller House will hit Netflix on December 9.
