Rob Kardashian has been struggling with his weight for a few years now, but until he stepped back into the spotlight several months ago, he’d been keeping it all pretty private.
Now that Kardashian and his fiancee Blac Chyna have their own docu-series, the 29-year-old has opened up a little more about the anxiety and depression he’s continued to experience in his life since his weight gain.
During a new episode of Rob & Chyna, Kardashian failed to show up at a party that Chyna was throwing for a friend, and she wanted to know if it was a recent argument they’d had that led him to bail.
“It’s a combination of everything,” he says. “I just didn’t really want you to see me and give you more reason to stop being attracted to me or whatever. So…so I just didn’t want to go.”
In a confessional afterwards, Chyna, who is currently expecting the couple’s first child, reveals that she finds it alarming when Rob speaks that way about himself.
“Even though I’m pissed at Rob for ghosting on me, when Rob says like really bad stuff about himself…it kinda like throws me off a lot because I don’t see it,” she says.
“And I get it everybody’s like down on themselves and have their opinions,” she continues, “but some of the stuff that he thinks and says is really sad.”
