The band reunited for several live dates and festival shows this year, after their split in 2011. Their last album This Is Happening came out in 2010.

Hong Kong’s Clockenflap Festival posted about the cancellations on Facebook.

“LCD Soundsystem have had to cancel their upcoming Asian & Australian tour at the end of the year, now including their appearance at Clockenflap 2016,” the festival wrote. “We are as disappointed as you are with this news. We wish them all the best with their recording and look forward to welcoming them to Hong Kong at another time.”

Earlier this year, band member James Murphy issued a statement about the future of the band: “We’re not just playing Coachella. We’re playing all over. We’re not just having some reunion tour. We’re releasing a record (sometime this year—still working on it, actually), so this isn’t a victory lap or anything, which wouldn’t be of much interest to us).”

Reportedly, LCD Soundsystem have signed a record deal with Columbia for their next LP.
