Taylor Swift won’t be at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The 26-year-old pop superstar, who cleaned up last year with her music video for “Bad Blood,” did not receive any nominations this year.
However, rumor had it that Swift would still attend to make amends with Kanye West, who is scheduled to perform.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that’s going to happen, because the “Wildest Dreams” singer is not planning to go to the show…and she never was.
“Taylor was never scheduled to attend the VMAs,” an insider told People.
As most people know, Swift and West have a long history with the VMAs. Back in 2009, the rapper famously interrupted the pop star while she was accepting the Video of the Year award to declare that “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time.”
Then, in 2015, Swift presented West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and all seemed well between the two.
Of course, that was before their feud was restarted this year over West’s song “Famous” (for which he’s nominated), and the stars have been at odds ever since.
The 2016 MTV VMAs will air this Sunday (August 28) at 9pm.
