Apparently being a world-famous pop star doesn’t guarantee you shopping sprees!
During a recent concert in San Jose, the 28-year-old singer revealed that she was recently shopping at the affordable retail store H&M when her credit card got declined at the checkout counter.
“I went to H&M and my card got declined,” she said. “Oh, my days, pretty embarrassing.”
Thankfully, the singer wasn’t recognized, as she continued, “Nobody knew it was me. But I was mortified.”
There’s no tell why exactly Adele’s card got turned away, especially as Forbes recently reported that she’s worth a whopping $80.5 million, making her the ninth highest-paid celeb in the biz.
Still, it’s not going to stop the star from frequenting her favorite stores, and she later name-dropped Target as another place she tends to spend her cash.
“They have everything!” she said. “Literally I spent $100 on stuff I do not need, I never need anything I buy at Target, but it’s amazing.”
You’re preaching to the choir, sister!
