Two Artists From Grosse Pointe Signed To Columbia Records

So, if you haven’t heard the song, “Kings of Summer” from Ayokay ft. Quinn XCII yet through your radio, Spotify, or Soundcloud, you might’ve heard it during a baseball game as Texas Rangers’ Ian Desmond‘s walk up song.

Me? I caught it a few days ago on our station and was hooked ever since. The song that makes you feel like you’re sitting by a beach on a summer night was created by two artists that might’ve been your neighbor, coworker, or classmate at some point.

Alex (Ayokay) and Mike (Quinn XCII) both hail from Grosse Pointe, MI and owe their educations to University of Michigan and Michigan State.

So how do these two guys from down the block get signed by a major label all in a matter of a few months? I HAD to get the scoop. Hear the crazy story of how their song turned into something much bigger than they ever expected below!
