Chuck D Responds to OSCARS Opening and Closing with ‘Fight The Power’

Public Enemy‘s lead man and  head lyricist has a few things to say regarding the use of his song “Fight The Power” last night at the Academy Awards.

Chris Rock took to the stage with Public Enemy’s Fight The Power blaring in the background and the show ended with the same song. Chuck D took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the use of the powerful song and some of the topics leading to the theme of this year’s Oscars.

Speaking on more than just the use of his song, Chuck D takes the opportunity to try to educate others as well. “Art speaking. Fight The Power. Make change.Demand respect. Do your own awards RIGHT & give indie artists & actors a chance to make a LIVING”
