Detroit Dog Rescue’s 2nd Annual ‘Walk 2 Rescue’ Was A Success!

Yesterday my wife Amanda, my Mother, dog Charlie and I had the opportunity to lead the 2nd Annual ‘Walk 2 Rescue’ with Detroit Dog Rescue at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Charter Township.

Thousands of dollars were raised by over 100 people who came out to enjoy a beautiful and support DDR!

Kristina Millman-Rinaldi, Executive Director at Detroit Dog Rescue, is simply amazing! It takes about 250 hours of volunteer work to keep DDR up and running for one week, and Kristina and her team deserve all the recognition:

In 2014 Detroit Dog Rescue opened the first and only NO-KILL shelter in the city of Detroit. Since achieving that goal, we are now helping the city of Detroit become the NO-KILL city we know it can be. We are helping to achieve this through: advocating for alternatives to euthanasia, proper pet care education, low cost spay and neutering programs, as well as, assisting low income families with pet food and medical resources.

Thank you to everyone who donated your money and time, and to those who helped adopt a dog! I was able to raise over $1,000 to help an organization doing great things in a city I love.

If you have been thinking about adopting a pet, I encourage you to check out Detroit Dog Rescue!

I will keep you posted on DDR’s next event!
