The never-ending saga of the Jay Z/Solange/Beyoncé elevator fight now has a new perspective.
Mathew Knowles, who is allegedly estranged from daughter Beyoncé, was speaking with a Houston radio station earlier this week when he decided to give his opinion on the confrontation…and he thinks the whole thing was a publicity stunt!
When asked about the situation, Knowles called it a “Jedi mind trick,” saying, “Everybody’s talking about it, ticket sales went up [for the On The Run Tour], and Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent.”
Later, Knowles reminded the hosts that he’s still the manager of Destiny’s Child, despite being reportedly kicked to the curb by Beyoncé, and proceeded to hint that a reunion tour and an album were in the works for the girl group.
“I still am the manager of Destiny’s Child,” he said. “And when you see Destiny’s Child on TV and see them doing songs together, slowly – now they’ve done two, they were recently on TV – I don’t know, [there] might be another Destiny’s Child album coming. There might be this tour that makes history, that’s Destiny Child featuring Beyoncé, Kelly [Rowland] and Michelle [Williams]. Can you imagine what that would be like?”
Then, when asked if he could “cough twice” to confirm the reunion, he complied with a laugh.
What do you think – was the elevator fight a publicity stunt? And will Destiny’s Child really reunite? Share your thoughts below!
