#ProjectBlueOut: Directioners Want To Make 1D’s Shows At Ford Field A ‘Sea Of Blue’

If you’re planning to be at either One Direction show this weekend at Ford Field, you may want to incorporate some blue into your outfit!

A group of Directioners are attempting to make the crowd at Ford Field “a sea of blue” for something they’re calling #ProjectBlueOut.

Inspired by 1D’s “sea of orange” that occurred on the Amsterdam stop of their Take Me Home tour, #ProjectBlueOut will not only represent the color of many of Detroit’s sports teams, but also aims to bring awareness to Autism.

Nicole, Maria, Courtney and Zach, who run the 1D Twitter fan account @WWA_Detroit14, have been making fans aware of the project for the past several weeks with a message that reads, “Detroit. Let’s make Aug. 16th a sea of blue! Blue anything! Blue shirts, blue shorts, blue jeans, blue bandanas. Anything! Let’s make this a memorable show for the boys!”

But the fun doesn’t stop on Saturday!

The following night, (Sunday, August 17), Directioners plan to hold up specially made signs during the band’s song “Don’t Forget Where You Belong,” as well as during 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect.”

Additionally, on both nights, fans will join hands and hold them in the air during One Direction’s song “Strong to show that Directioners are all united.
