Before Destiny’s Child became the trio that we all remember today, there were a series of former members who brought the group to its initial fame.
Now, one of those members is back in the spotlight, but it’s not exactly for positive reasons.
Farrah Franklin, who was a briefly a part of the iconic girl group over a decade ago, was arrested over the weekend for disorderly conduct.
According to People, Franklin was apprehended in Conway, South Carolina around 5am on Sunday morning. The Horry County Sherriff Department’s website posted her mugshot and noted that the singer was released from custody at noon that same day, though little else is known about the incident.
Meanwhile, TMZ points out that Franklin was arrested on the same charges in 2011.
The 33-year-old was a part of an incarnation of Destiny’s Child which also included Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for just five months in 2000, but was later dropped from the group for allegedly failing to show up to appearances.
Franklin most notably appeared in the music videos for “Jumpin’ Jumpin’” and “Say My Name.”
For her part, the former pop star took to Instagram just hours after her arrest to share a quote, captioning the image, “I’m good just hate the dumb media sometimes, but hey this is the job I signed up for. So I respect it.”
Hopefully things will turn around for Farrah soon!
