Former Detroit Tigers First Baseman Naked On ESPN Magazine Cover! [Photos]

ESPN‘s annual “Body Issue” is typically a celebration of the most jaw-droppingly tone physiques in all of athletics. Well, this year they’ve switched it up a bit, putting a full-figured and buck naked Texas Rangers’ first baseman Prince Fielder on the issue’s cover.

In an interview with the magazine (the all-sports network’s print offshoot), Fielder, formerly¬†of the Detroit Tigers, talks about his gummy bear tattoo, and says, “Just because you’re big doesn’t mean you can’t be an athlete.” He’s absolutely right, but that probably won’t stop people from feeling the need to shield their eyes in grocery aisles everywhere when the issue hits stands on July 11.

Hats off to Prince for shooting the ESPN cover, I can’t even swim in my own pool without wearing a t-shirt.

Check out all the athletes featured in the issue¬†below and see more images from Fielder’s ESPN photoshoot HERE.
