Miley Cyrus Shows Off Tattoo Of Late Dog In Topless Photo

True to form, Miley Cyrus had just about the weirdest 4th of July ever!

The 21-year-old “Adore You” singer documented the holiday weekend with many photos on Instagram, which showed her partying with friends, wearing a variety of odd outfits and rocking her signature “smile.”

Additionally, the pop superstar and Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, who have been spending a lot of time together in recent months, cemented their friendship by getting matching tattoos of Miley’s late dog Floyd while at a house party in Los Angeles.

“Yep!!! Family Floyd Tat!!! I Get By With A Little Help From My Fwends!!!” Coyne captioned an Instagram post that also showed his girlfriend Katy Weaver rocking the tat.

Cyrus has been open about her depression since losing her dog while on tour this spring, and she recently adopted a new Shetland sheepdog named Emu into her family of canine pals.

During her NBC TV special, which aired yesterday (July 6), Cyrus touched on the subject, saying, “I think if I really [accept that he’s dead], he might actually go at some point, which I don’t really want. I have to not make myself sick over it because that’s what I did at first. I loved him so much. I really shut down more than I’ve ever let myself. You can try to move on, your shell can continue [to go] on stage every night, but internally I wasn’t [there].”

Here’s hoping that the tattoo is Cyrus’s first step in moving on!
