Poor Selena Gomez! We know her tour was cut short back in the winter before she entered rehab in Arizona, but it wasn’t clear what the situation was. Now, Selena’s grandfather is claiming that the singer is being treated for lupus.
Ricardo Gomez spoke to Radar Online about his granddaughter, who he alleges was diagnosed with the auto-immune disease “a couple of years ago” and now is learning how to live and cope with her symptoms.
Richard had this to say:
“She’s in treatment. She’s getting along pretty good.”
The 21-year-old starlet’s grandpa also weighed in on the media reports about his granddaughter taking drugs.
“We just saw in some newspaper that she was doing drugs. I called her and said, [you] need to watch out,” he told Radar. “She was working a lot. She was exhausted. She hardly takes some time out.”
“There was some pressure, first because it’s a lot of work,” he added. “The doctor was telling her she needs to take some time out. It’s just too much pressure what she’s going through. It’s just too much! She doesn’t have a single day’s break…It’s getting to the point with all this pressure…that it’s too much.
“Everyone was telling her, even her agent and the doctor, ‘Selena take some time to yourself!'”
Meanwhile, neither Selena nor her camp have confirmed or denied Ricardo Gomez’s comments.
If these reports are true, we hope that Selena continues to take the time that she needs to recover and that she starts to feel better soon!
