One would imagine that Avril Lavigne has met many fans in her day, and there have probably been many times when things got a bit weird.
However, these recent photos from a meet and greet in Brazil seem to take the cake in the awkward department.
Whether or not the no-contact rule is true remains uncertain, but the resulting photos feature the “Complicated” singer standing at a decent distance from each fan and looking slightly uncomfortable…and they’re pretty funny!

Lavigne, who is currently on tour in support of her fifth studio album, has not directly responded to reports, but she did retweet a compilation of photos posted by a fan that show her hugging and posing with former M&G attendees:
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old pop star’s music video for “Hello Kitty” has caused quite a stir for its depiction of Japanese culture, but despite the controversy, it continues to rack up views on YouTube, with over 15 million hits as of today (May 5).
