Growing up in Michigan you have one of two choices, either be a die hard Detroit Lions fan or mock the team. When I was in elementary school, my Dad asked me this tough question and my answer might surprise you.
Yup, I am a die hard fan of Honolulu Blue and Silver.
It’s been 12 years since the Lions moved from the Pontiac Silverdome to the beautiful Ford Field in downtown Detroit, but we shouldn’t forget that the now-abandoned venue was once the sight of many historic events including Wrestle Mania 3 and Barry Sanders becoming the third running back in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards.

The view above is what the Silverdome looked like over a month ago due to the harsh winter. How could they let such a historic building fall into such horrible disrepair? First you let them demolish Old Tiger Stadium, now this? A more recent picture posted yesterday on Twitter shows what the inside of the 80,000 seat venue looks like today:

It’s just a sad sight to see. At any rate, you can own a piece of Detroit Lions history, as they are set to hold an auction in mid-May. Take a look at everything up for grabs on the online auction.
