Avril Lavigne Responds to Claims That Her ‘Hello Kitty’ Video is Racist

Avril Lavigne has come out to defend her “Hello Kitty” video, in the most Avril way ever.

The singer took to Twitter last night (April 23) to explain exactly why her new video, which features the “Boi” songstress strutting her stuff in a cupcake adorned skirt while a few Japanese women dance behind her, isn’t racist at all.

“RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!!,” the singer wrote. “I love Japanese culture and I spend half of my time in Japan.”
