Drake is on fire with his Jay-Z comments! I was surprised to see that nothing really escalated from the first diss Drake dropped on Jay-Z basically calling the rap legend “soft.’ In the infamous Rolling Stone interview Drake said:
“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references. I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
Jay-Z came back with a lyric in Jay Electronica’s “We Made It”:
“Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk,” Jay-Z raps on the track. “Silly me, rappin’ ’bout s**t that I really bought — while these rappers rap about guns that they ain’t shot — and a bunch of other silly s**t that they ain’t got.”
So over the weekend Drake caught an NBA playoff game between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets, which happens to be both of the rappers’ hometown teams. The TNT commentators asked Drake about his feelings towards the game and Drake didn’t hesitate to draw the parrallel between the sporting event and his rap rivalry.
Listen to what Drake said:
So is that friendly fire or is Drake just jabbing away?! We now wait to see what Jay-Z has to say about all this! What do you think?
