Go Behind-The-Scenes On The Shoot For ‘The Monster’ Music Video!
If you’ve ever wondered how the storyline for Eminem and Rihanna’s “Monster” music video came about, you’re about to get all of the answers you need!
In a brand new clip posted to his official Facebook page today (April 3), Eminem allows fans to go behind-the-scenes on the video’s shoot, which featured recreations of some of the superstar’s most famous moments.
Along with a ton of exclusive footage, the 3-minute clip also includes a narration explaining the music video’s concept, which comes in the form of a voicemail that seems to have been left by Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg.
“So the basic concept is sort of an ‘Inception’ type of vibe – the whole video sort of happens inside of your head,” Paul says in the recording. “And Rihanna, in the beginning, is going to act as your therapist. You enter into her office, you sit down, and you sort of fall asleep…and next thing you know you’re traveling in this elevator. And the elevator sort of represents your journey and your career.”
Directed by Rich Lee, the video was shot here in Detroit, where Eminem and Rihanna met up to film the scenes in November of 2013.
Meanwhile, Eminem and Rihanna are gearing up for The Monster Tour, which is set to hit Detroit’s Comerica Park on August 22 and 23.
