UPDATE:

Buzzfeed interview with Drake Bell went viral after the 27-year-old allegedly gave some pretty strong opinions about a few of the world’s most popular artists, including fellow Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande.

In the article, Bell reportedly expressed his disgust that Grande didn’t reprimand her fans after they sent a series of scathing tweets to gossip blogger Perez Hilton, and also called out the singer/actress for having her music career handed to her.

“Ariana Grande is a billionaire before she’s been an artist,” Bell allegedly told Buzzfeed. “You have to work to be able to appreciate what you have, and what work did she ever have to do in her life?”

Now, Bell has denied saying anything about Ariana Grande, taking to Twitter just a few hours ago with the following post:

Bell also shared a series of photos of the Sam & Cat star and himself and praised Grande’s talent after posting videos of her singing.

No word on whether or not Bell is denying the rest of the quotes in his Buzzfeed interview, in which he discussed Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and One Direction.

ORIGINAL STORY:

It looks like Drake Bell has a bone to pick with Ariana Grande…and Justin Bieber…and Lady Gaga…and One Direction.

During a recent interview with Buzzfeed.com, the former Drake and Josh star singled out some of the world’s most popular artists for having fan bases that were too ‘cliquey.’

“I can’t stand that, with a lot of the pop stars, there’s this idea of ‘Are you in our clique? Are you a Direction-er or are you a Belieber? Oh, you’re not in our gang? Then you’re not cool and you need to go in a hole and die.’ I don’t understand it,” Bell explained.

The 27-year-old actor continued on to say that he disagrees with certain celebs for failing to reprimand their fans when they engage in social media bullying, citing a recent interview between Lady Gaga and Howard Stern as an example.

“Howard read all of these awful, awful tweets her fans had been sending him, [and] asked how she responded to her fans doing the exact antithesis of what she stands for,” Bell told Buzzfeed. “She said, ‘You have to understand, Howard, it comes from a place of love. They don’t want to see me get hurt.’ I couldn’t believe she didn’t take a second to address her fans and say how disgusted she was they’d do something like that.”

“Justin Bieber just tweets, ‘Yeah, Beliebers, go hard’ when they’re attacking somebody,” he continued. “Ariana Grande’s fans told Perez Hilton that he and his son needed to die and get cancer, and she just fed it. It’s disgusting.”

Bell, who is now trying to make his mark in the world of music, also had some strong words to say about the singing career of fellow Nickelodeon actor-turned pop star Ariana Grande.

“There’s just a lot of really young, entitled people,” Bell explained to Buzzfeed. “I don’t think a lot of these young people have to work very hard. They’re found on YouTube and, boom, thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want. Ariana Grande is a billionaire before she’s been an artist. You have to work to be able to appreciate what you have, and what work did she ever have to do in her life?”

Strangely enough, Bell took to Twitter yesterday (April 2) to post a YouTube video of Grande singing an a cappella version of Adele’sRolling in the Deep” that featured the caption, “Ariana Grande damn if only I could sing half this good!!”

Meanwhile, MTV.com did a ‘fact check’ on some of Drake Bell’s comments and accusations – read their defense of the artists here.
