Since his split with Paula Patton, Robin Thicke has taken to dedicating songs to his estranged wife while on his his Blurred Lines tour, seemingly in hopes of winning her back.
According to the Daily Mail, the 37-year-old singer most recently told the crowd at New York’s Madison Square Garden, “When there’s someone you love, you gotta fight for them no matter what.”
So what does Paula think of her ex’s grand gestures and heartfelt words?
“She loved it,” Thicke said while speaking with People. “She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I’ve always been a romantic guy that way.”
After a 21 year relationship, which included over a decade of marriage, the couple shocked the world by announcing their separation back in February. Soon after, rumors began to surface that the breakup came by Patton’s request, and Thicke was simply honoring her wishes.
As far as the current status of their relationship, Thicke tells People that he and Patton, who has yet to file for divorce, are doing well.
“We’re both very happy right now – much happier,” he revealed. “Everything about this moment in my life – this amazing year I just had and what I’m going through personally – has actually ignited some of the best writing I’ve done in a long time.”
Meanwhile, Thicke says that he’s focusing on his new album and continuing to co-parent his son with Patton, 3-year-old Julian, to the best of his ability.
