An Outline Of The Kimye ‘Vogue’ Backlash – Why All The Hate?
There has been quite a bit of buzz surrounding the latest issue of Vogue, which features Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover.
From celebrities like Sarah Michelle Gellar stating that she is going to cancel her subscription in protest, to funny guys Seth Rogen and James Franco spoofing the cover shot, the April edition of Vogue, which focuses on the couple’s life with daughter North West and forthcoming nuptials, is easily one of the most talked about magazines ever!
In a recent interview with Australia’s The Morning Show, supermodel Naomi Campbell weighed on the subject…without really saying anything at all.
When asked what she thought of the high-profile mag’s latest cover, Campbell responded, “I do not want to comment,” and then broke into a fit of laughter.
The host then prompted the 43-year-old fashion icon to elaborate, and she stated, “Because I’m a fashion model and I’ve been working for 28 years, and when you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career. It’s a stepping-stone to achieve that. And I’m a fashion model, what more can I say?”
After being asked if she thought that Kim and Kanye didn’t deserve the cover, Campbell simply said, “Those are your words. I’m being politically correct. That’s [Vogue editor in chief] Anna Wintour‘s choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who’s to question it?”
Meanwhile, Kardashian finally opened up about the issue during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers where she revealed that her and her hubby-to-be weren’t positive they were going to be featured on the cover so everything was kept under wraps – even from her sisters!
“I knew [the photo shoot] was happening of course,” the 33-year-old reality starlet told Meyers, “but I didn’t know it would be the cover. I’m just so honored.”
As Kim and Seth went through some of the stunning Annie Leibovitz photos, the new mom also shared a funny story about her 9-month-old.
“Actually, North peed on [Kanye] right at that moment,” Kardashian laughed when they got to a photo of ‘Nori’ lying on her father’s chest. “He was trying to tell me…I had to get up and get her – clean her off…clean him off!”
The April issue of Vogue is on stands now, and Kardashian has posted a few of the pictures on her Instagram:
