Ever since Beyonce’s Drunk In Love performance at The Grammys people have been talking about the singers new image with her latest album. From the lyrics in her songs to the videos she’s putting out.

Bill O’Reilly is at it again with his over-the-top comments and this time he’s going after Beyonce, calling her ‘Partition‘ video garbage!

Last night, March 10, Russell Simmons was Bill’s guest on The O’Reilly Factor to promote his book. Bill felt the need to ask him for an explanation for Beyonce‘s “Partition” music video stating that Beyonce is a role model for young women of color, and wondering why she would release a video glorifying sex. Russell tried to change the subject and talk about his new book.

“I believe an entertainer like Beyonce and a mogul like you have an obligation to protect children,” Bill explains. “Not put out exploitive garbage that you know harms impressionable children. I think Beyonce, what she has done here, is inexplicable. I’m asking you [...] to explain it to me.”

Russell did his best to dance around it by saying this:

“My daughters make choices based on the inspiration we give them as parents.”

And went on to say this:

“Bill, if you think the art that comes out of a community is the cause of the struggle…”

Bill then interrupted by saying, “That’s art? Beyonce in the back of a limo having sex and referencing Monica Lewinsky is art?”

“Yeah, it is, actually,” Russell attempts to explain. “She’s a brilliant artist, and she’s not only by people of color, as you know, she’s really one of the top artists in the world. Of every color.”

So I ask: what do you think of Beyonce and her ‘Partition’ video? Is Bill out of line or is Beyonce crossing the line of taking it too far as an artist?

Here’s what I think. Beyonce is incredibly talented and she’s a grown up doing grown up things. She’s been doing these sexy videos from the start. She’s pushing it a little right now, more so than before.

With artists like Rihanna being over the top and sexual, I think Beyonce wants to show the world she can do the same (not that she needs to). Beyonce has pretty much portrayed herself as this good girl in the past, and maybe the reality is, the bad girl in her is just dying to get out!
