In my opinion hip-hop today isn’t as good or special as it was back in the day. I’m not a hip-hop historian by any means, just a fan. In the ’90s, hip-hop exploded and became mainstream, crossing over to the masses. Finally rap music wasn’t just played on Urban radio, it became Top 40.

Bad Boy Records and the Notorious B.I.G. were apart of that movement that forever changed the way hip-hop was viewed, paving the way for artist today. Becoming available to the masses, hip-hop was suddenly relatable, danceable, marketable and profitable!

Let’s celebrate the life of the Notorious B.I.G. who died on March 9th, 1997. The legacy of Biggie Smalls is deep. He was the voice for his generation, and continues to be today. Thanks for the music Biggie. Hip-hop misses you!

This song was a massive hit!
