The classic tale of Annie has been given a 21st century upgrade with its latest remake.

Starring the adorable Quvenzhané Wallis as the infamous Little Orphan Annie, this version of the musical takes place in 2014 Harlem, and will include more contemporary takes on both the characters and the music.

Produced by powerhouse duo Jay-Z and Will Smith and directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends With Benefits) the musical will feature Jamie Foxx as a new kind of Daddy Warbucks named ‘Benjamin Stacks,’ a wealthy business man looking to run for mayor.

The role of the ruthless Miss Hannigan will be taken on by Cameron Diaz, while Rose Byrne will play Stacks’ VP Grace and Bobby Cannavale has been cast as scheming campaign advisor, Guy.

Yahoo! Movies released the film’s first official trailer this week in which modern takes of “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow” can both be heard.

Annie is due out on December 25, making it the perfect candidate to be this Christmas’s box office smash.

Check out the trailer below and tell us if you’ll be seeing Annie when it hits theaters next winter!
