Documentary Of Tiger Stadium Will Be Featured At Freep Film Fest

Baseball is in the air! With Opening Day just a few weeks away in Downtown Detroit, our beloved Tigers will open the season this year at Comerica Park on March 31st. Snow or no snow, baseball will finally be back in the D!

About a week before the first pitch is thrown, the ‘Freep Film Festival’ will take place at the Detroit Film Theatre at the Detroit Institute of Arts on Sunday March 23rd. This year ‘Stealing Home: At The Corner with the Navin Field Grounds Crew’ will make it’s debut, according to Freep.com.

Written and directed by University of Detroit Mercy communication studies professor Jason Roche, the film reportedly tells the story of the Navin Field Grounds Crew and their devotion to the baseball field at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull, home of the old Tiger Stadium in Detroit.

Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased here.
