Ellen DeGeneres made sure that the pizza delivery man that relieved the hunger of A-list celebrities at this year’s Oscars was well compensated!
Edgar Martirosyan, who owns Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria with his brother, appeared on The Ellen Show yesterday (March 3) and explained that he brought the three pizzas to Hollywood’s Dolby Theater under the impression he was delivering dinner to a team of writers.
But as he walked in, it was Ellen who appeared, telling Edgar to wait for her cue and then to follow her…right out onto the stage!
“I was just shocked!” Martirosyan remembers with a laugh.
After discussing how surreal it was to serve his lifelong crush (Julia Roberts) a slice of pizza, Ellen presents Edgar with a $600 tip for his troubles, which she collected in Pharrell’s hat during the Oscars.
The talk-show host then throws in another $400 for good measure and brings out boxes if Big Mama’s and Papa’s pizza for the whole crowd! Can you say free promotion?
