In the wake of his split with wife Paula Patton, Robin Thicke has reached out to fans to let them know how much he appreciates the support and kind words.
The “Blurred Lines” singer took to his official website today (February 26) to post the statement:
“I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me. I’m looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!”
Thicke canceled three of his U.S. concert dates over the past week, citing vocal problems as the reason, though the Daily Mail reports that he was seen flying to Vancouver, where Patton happens to be filming.
Rumors have been swirling that the singer’s impromptu trip was a final effort to save his failing marriage, with TMZ reporting that he only agreed to the split because Patton was adamant about wanting a divorce.
The couple, who have been married for nearly nine years and known each other for decades, released a joint statement to People early on Monday announcing their separation:
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”
Thicke (36) and Patton (38) have one son together, 3-year-old Julian Fuego.
Meanwhile, it sounds like Robin Thicke is moving on as best as he can by returning to the road on his Blurred Lines Tour, which picks back up tomorrow (February 27) in Washington D.C.
