Many fans became hopeful that Demi Lovato was planning to tie the knot with rumored boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama after the singer/actress recently posted a couple of of seriously romantic tweets that seemed to be about the former That 70s Show.

Last month, in a special birthday message to her longtime “friend,” Lovato wrote, “To the funniest, most inspiring, incredible man I know.. @WValderrama. Thank you for helping me get through my darkest moments.. You truly are a light to this world and to my life.. Happy Birthday!!!”

Accompanying the post were some truly adorable photos of the pair, who are posing close together and goofing off.

Valderrama then replied to Lovato’s tweet with a seemingly romantic post of his own, writing, “Who needs presents when the gift of you is real to us all. Thank you for the blessing of knowing you.”

The tweets fueled the fire that Lovato (21) and Valderrama (34) were engaged, particularly because Demi had taken to Twitter just days earlier to write, “Sooooo I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life than this very moment that I am fully living in….” and was then spotted wearing a conspicuous-looking ring.

However, dreams of the couple’s pending nuptials came crashing down yesterday when Lovato denied the rumors during an interview with Extra, simply stating, “…honey, if I was engaged, I’d be showing the rock off!”

In any case, Lovato wouldn’t really have much time to plan a wedding anytime soon, as the singer just kicked off her highly-anticipated Neon Lights tour which will take her all the way around North and South American through mid-May. The concert run comes in support of her fourth studio album Demi, which dropped last year.
