Taylor Swift clearly doesn’t equate being risky with being naked!
During a recent interview with Glamour, Swift discussed her ability to be both classy and edgy, divulging that the secret is to let her music speak for itself.
“I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don’t really feel like taking them off,” the singer tells Glamor. “It’s not an urge I have. For me ‘risky’ is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is. That’s putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off.”
While Swift’s pop counterparts such as Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Rihanna and Ke$ha have been known to perform in racier outfits onstage and in their music videos, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer’s wardrobe tends to consist of tasteful dresses, skirts and occasionally, cowboy boots.
However, that doesn’t mean Taylor feels uncomfortable in her skin – in fact, it’s quite the contrary.
“I’m not trying to shed my skin. I’m trying to be a new version of the person I’ve been my whole life,” Swift explains to Glamour. “That’s what’s held my fans and me together. For a group of millions, it’s odd how close I feel to them.”
