Bastille Talks ‘Twin Peaks,’ Coney Dogs and Their Favorite Detroit Song

Dan Smith and Kyle Simmons of Bastille sat down with Renee before their sold-out show at the Royal Oak Music Theatre earlier this week, which marked the band’s first performance in the Detroit area.

During the interview, Smith (lead singer) and Simmons (keyboardist) talked about their first impressions of  the Motor City, the differences between touring in the United States as opposed to playing in Europe, Smith’s love of the TV show Twin Peaks, the band’s upcoming performance on SNL, and their favorite song about Detroit (spoiler alert: it’s the T Baby classic, “It’s So Cold in the D.”)

Also, Renee convinces the guys to get their first Coney Dog, which sparks a conversation about the strange food that fans have gifted them over the years.
