Pop icon Katy Perry has revealed that the North American leg of her Prismatic World Tour is coming to Detroit!
The “Roar” singer is poised to hit the road in June for a series of 46 concert dates which will run all the way through October, with stops at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on August 10 and at The Palace of Auburn Hills on August 11.
Earlier this month, Perry asked fans to submit videos discussing their cities and what makes them special, and she’s taken those submissions into consideration while planning her latest concert run.
“THE PRISMATIC WORLD TOUR is coming to light up some of my favorite North American cities this summer, as well as some new cities that you introduced me to through your video requests” Katy said in the official press release. “This colorful show will bring you all the songs you know as well as ones from my new album, PRISM.”
Both Michigan dates will feature Kasey Musgraves as the opening act, while Capital Cities and Tegan & Sara are also set to join Perry at shows throughout the tour.
The Prismatic World Tour comes in support of Katy Perry’s latest studio album Prism, which has produced hits such as “Roar,” “Unconditionally” and “Dark Horse” since its release last fall.
Pre-sale tickets will be available to Citi cardmembers beginning on January 21 at 10am. Additionally, fans will have the chance to purchase tickets early through a special Facebook pre-sale on January 23, with passes available to the general public on January 27.
Perry will also donate $1 of each ticket sold on the North American run to the organization UNICEF.
