Tupac Auditioned For Jedi Role In Star Wars

The late great Tupac is one of the greatest rappers of our generation. I often ponder if he was still here today what he would be doing musically in today’s rap game. Guess we will never know….

Tupac was also a pretty good actor. I loved him with Janet Jackson in Poetic Justice. Turns out Tupac had a desire to be a Jedi in the Star Wars franchise!

Tupac Shakur reportedly auditioned for a role in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Tupac read for George Lucas for the part of Jedi Master Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy of films, but ultimately lost out to Samuel L Jackson. This info is coming from Death Row Records engineer Rick Clifford, who had a conversation with Tupac back in 1996. Take a listen..
