Drake was the subject of more tweets than any other hip-hop artist in 2013.
He generated 52,202,000 tweets, with his “Nothing Was the Same” album getting about 2,942,000 times and he got top trending topics like#DrakeTaughtMe, #DrakeTwitterPassword and album-related trends like #NothingWasTheSame, Pound Cake, The Language and Wu-Tang Forever.
Eminem also had a big year. “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” single “Rap God” scored the No. 1 hip-hop trend (#RapGod) and he was the second most tweeted-about rap star with 21,271,953 messages.
Lil Wayne was the third most tweeted-about rapper, putting him above Jay Z, J. Cole, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar.
Kanye’s “New Slaves” video debut on the side of buildings across the world in May generated more than 500,000 tweets, and his “Yeezus” release led to 4.4 million mentions, making it the most tweeted-about hip-hop album of the year.
