MTV VMA Moonman Gets A Facelift For 2013

The iconic MTV Moonman statue for the MTV Video Music Awards has been the same for almost 30 years. The statue has received a makeover for this years show set to broadcast from Brooklyn on 8/25/13.

New York artist KAWS had the honors to give the statue a temporary facelift.  MTV president Stephen Friedman stated that the new figure was made special for the Brooklyn broadcast and there are no plans to permanently adopt the figure.

KAWS will also design the set for the show as well. Take a look a the gnarly makeover RIGHT HERE.
