Pharrell V. will.i.am Continues!

Just last week, will.i.am had denied suing Pharrell over the use of ” I AM.”  At first it was on big misunderstanding, starting as a filed notice of opposition by will.i.am, but now Pharrell makes it an official lawsuit!

According to Billboard.com, artists featured in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” says that Will is using it a Seussian way (referencing Dr. Seuss). As explained in the suit, Will is using “I AM” to play off his own name (he then goes on to quote Dr. Seuss, “Sam I Am.”).
Pharrell also says that the I Am Other mark means ‘I am something else,’ leaving what that ‘else’ is to the imagination of the consumer. It certainly does not mean ‘I am Will.'”

Will Pharrell be able to continue using his “I am OTHER” trade mark?
