Should Facebook Bend The Rules To Help Paris Jackson?

Paris Jackson, 15, is seeking treatment for many issues she’s facing after she attempted suicide, which we’ve learned wasn’t her first attempt. Part of Paris’s depression is all the bullying she’s been dealing with, and in particular the bullying on Facebook.

Being the daughter of Michael Jackson certainly can’t be easy and a lot of these comments are about his lifestyle, and comments made on the various molestation allegations. Others comments involve the odd life Paris once lived with Michael when he was alive.

Naturally Paris takes these comments to heart. One source says, “They destroyed her.” The source adds, there’s a nexus between the bullying and her penchant for cutting. Paris’s Instagram revealed several disturbing pictures of cutting and how dark her world must be. So sad.

The family is doing all they can to help Paris and they would like to delete her Facebook account. While in treatment she doesn’t have access to it but as soon as she’s out she will. The family has no rights to shut down her page because Facebook’s policy says that the family of a user has no right to shut down an account if the user is 13 years of age or older. That is a bunch of crap. In situations like this and with other teens who are being bullied online, parent’s should have the right to delete their account. Do you agree?
