Here in the Motor City we drive a lot, it’s what we do! Personally I hate driving and lately paying these high gas prices. Anyway the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) just released new data showing the most accident-prone intersections in metro Detroit.
SEMCOG focuses mainly on Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. It’s all based off the average number of car crashes each year from 2008 to 2012. I drive through so many of these intersections… scary!
Here’s the top five most accident-prone intersections in metro Detroit:
1. Ford Rd. at Haggerty Rd.
2. Southfield Rd. at 11 Mile Rd.
3. 12 Mile Rd. at Orchard Lake Rd.
4. 12 Mile Rd. at Dequindre Rd.
5. Garfield Rd. at 19 Mile Rd.
