‘Glee’ Music Preview: Life Is Stevie Wonder-ful
This week’s episode of Glee is a tribute to Stevie Wonder with the whole New Directions gang putting their own spin on some of the singer’s greatest hits.
Kurt is hanging around Lima and might be in for a very special surprise from Blaine, who’s thinking about popping the question. With Kurt dedicating “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life” to Blaine, it seems like he might say yes.
The gang shows off their funky side with “Superstition,” getting down with a very hip horn section.
Kitty takes the lead, and shows a bit of her soulful side, on “Signed Sealed Delivered (I’m Yours).” She even sounds a bit remorseful as she croons, “I’ve done a lot of foolish things that I really didn’t mean.” Maybe she’s finally ready to turn a new leaf?
On “I Wish” the horns are back with the Glee kids showing off their harmonizing skills throughout the track, which has the kids reminiscing about the old days.
Artie gets some news that will change things for his life and his mom’s (played by Sons of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal). What is it? Well, we have no idea, but he seems hopeful about whatever it is in his harmonica-laden version of “For Once In My Life.”
Back in New York, Rachel is preparing for her Funny Girl callback and it seems she might need a little help from dance teacher, Cassandra July (Kate Hudson). But will Cassandra lend Rachel her support?
Hard to tell with Hudson’s performance of Wonder’s song “Uptight (Everything’s Alright).” Either way, it’s nice to see Hudson back, shaking her thang.
