Unpublished Photos From Kurt Cobain’s Suicide Scene Released

On April 5th everybody was busy celebrating opening day for the Tigers here in Detroit. April 5th also marked the day that the tragic news came that Kurt Cobain committed suicide in his Seattle home at the age of 27. Hard to beleive it’s been 19 years.

As a big fan of grunge and Nirvana, I think music fans will forever be fascinated with his life and death. Until now only a few pictures of his Seattle home were published.

Cobain was found by an electrician who came to the house for a pre-scheduled job. Gary Smith, the employee for Veca Electric no longer discusses the incident he witnessed that day. Smith found Cobain’s body three days after the gun shot wound. The medical examiner determined it was a suicide.

When news of Cobain’s death hit the airwaves several photographers were sent to the scene. Photographer Mike Urban went to the yard of a home behind the greenhouse where Cobain died and took these photos. Click here to see!

In the early 90’s I was living in Seattle, and totally apart of the whole grunge movement. In my opinion this is one of the greatest songs ever recorded!
