The Morning After Pill Now Sold Over The Counter

Recently, a federal judge ruled that the government has 30 days to make an emergency contraception available over the counter for girls of all ages. Before this ruling a prescription was needed for all girls under the age of 16

back in 2011 The Health and Human Services Secretary decided that no one under the age of 17 could buy the morning-after pull. However, this new ruling will overturn that. When talking about this matter judge Edward Korman called the age restrictions…

“arbitrary, capricious, and unreasonable,”

The drug manufacturer says that the Plan B if taken within the frist 72 hours can prevent a pregnancy. therefore the need to get a prescription can make it tough to get the pill within that time frame.
