Detroit Student Takes Neighbor’s $20K To School And Passes It Out

A 12-year-old in the Detroit area brought $20,000 cash to school …. in her backpack. The child received the money the night before from a neighbor, who was also a child. The school’s principal heard that the student was giving money away to friends.

Lucky for her neighbors, school officials brought in the student, secured the backpack and got back the money that she had already given away. The cash was discovered when the student went to the Sixth Grade Academy, a school of about 600 students in the 13500 block of Pine Street.

Police said that they will continue to investigate the incident.
