Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Talks Addictions

In the March issue of Rolling Stone, Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe opens up about how alcohol and prescription drugs completely took over his life. Remember his onstage meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas last September where he screamed out, “I’m not f*#king Justin Bieber, you motherf**kers!”

That definitely was a bad look for him as “punk rock” as it was. You hate to see anybody battling addictions. It can make you do some pretty messed up things…

“I couldn’t predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night. I’d wake up in a strange house on a couch. I wouldn’t remember how. It was a complete blackout.
I remember tiny things. The next morning, I woke up. I asked [my wife] Adrienne, ‘How bad was it?’ She said, ‘It’s bad.’ I called my manager. He said, ‘You’re getting on a plane, going back to Oakland and going into rehab immediately.”

Glad to see that Billie Joe got the help he needed. Read the full interview when the issue hit’s newsstands on Friday. This is one of my favorite Green Day songs!
