Family’s Syrup Making Mistaken For Meth Lab By Neighbors
Laura Benson, a resident of Union County, Illinois, had a rather startling awakening recently…
Her husband has a unique hobby of making his own homemade maple syrup for their family. However, their neighbors had a much different idea about what was going on in the privacy of their home. They thought that the Benson family was running a meth lab! The neighbors even reported it to the local Police. With a “tip” like that the drug agents swarmed their property.
Here is what Benson had to say,
“They had a report of a meth lab going on on our property. And they wanted to investigate it.”
Of course, she had no problem showing the officers what her husband was actually doing.
“They pointed to the buckets and I told them my husband has a hobby of making maple syrup. Of course they realized it once they seen it.”
She went on to say,
“I think my neighbors on their way to church see the buckets and stuff and think we’ve got a meth lab operation going on here. I just want to put their minds at ease, and let them know it’s maple syrup. And that they’re all welcome for pancakes if they want to come on over,”
