Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl to replace the San Francisco 49er’s Justin Smith, who is headed to the Super Bowl.
Suh had been selected as an alternate. He is now the third Detroit player picked for the Pro Bowl. It’s the team’s most since having three selected to the 2005 game. Suh, wide receiver Calvin Johnson and long snapper Don Muhlbach are on this year’s team.
Suh is the first Lion to earn a Pro Bowl trip in two of his first three seasons since Barry Sanders, who went to the Pro Bowl in all 10 of his NFL seasons.
