GM Says Siri Will Speak To You In A Chevy By Next Year

GM announced plans to integrate Apple’s Siri into three of its new Chevrolet models starting early next year. Customers with an iPhone running iOS 6 will be able to sync their phones through Bluetooth in two versions of the Chevrolet Spark and the Sonic LTZ and RS.

Siri will hook up with the cars’ MyLink infotainment system and will let drivers make voice-activated calls, play songs in their iTunes libraries, add appointments to their calendars, and compose iMessages and text messages hands-free.

Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar have also confirmed they plan to integrate Siri in their synced systems as well, but GM is the first to do it. This is a awesome idea and will hopefully do a better job of keeping drivers focused on the road.
